Fake Spotting – How to recognize original Louboutin shoes!
Hardly any other shoe is as elegant, adored and sought-after as that of the luxury label Louboutin. The characteristic red sole is regarded as the striking branding of Louboutin and has therefore repeatedly been the target of imitators in recent years. We tell you how to recognize real Louboutins and expose fakes.
1. The Red Sole
The red sole is the trademark of Louboutins shoes. But here, too, caution is advised, as numerous other brands such as Buffalo have recently also started offering high heels with a bright red sole. The original sole of Louboutins is shiny and in a bright red tone, only rarely does it appear in an orange-red. Pay attention therefore besides the colour also always exactly to the stamping. For originals the engraving is structured as follows:
- Logo of Christian Louboutin
- Lettering „Made in Italy“
- Shoe size always in EU size, half numbers are indicated with 1/2, e.g. 38 1/2
Incidentally, in the case of older models, it is possible that another stamp bearing the words ‚Vero Cuoio‘ has been placed between the logo and the words ‚Made in Italy‘. It’s best to take a close look at the sole to see if it has many bumps because this is usually the first sign that the sole is a fake product.
2. Finishing
As with all luxury brands, Louboutin shoes are made from the highest quality materials and manufactured to the highest standards. Therefore, make sure that the edges of the leather sole are sealed and that all seams have been processed accurately and straight. With regard to the material, you can also do the smell test without any problems, because you can usually tell whether it is real leather or a cheap substitute material. Also make sure that the writing „Christian Louboutin Paris“ is present inside the shoe, but also that it is written correctly and has been worked in neatly.
3. Louboutin Accessories
When buying, always make sure that the shoes are packed in original parts. Original Louboutins, for example, are always sold in a dust bag with the words „Christian Louboutin“ and „Paris“ underneath on the right. Therefore, ask for the dust bag especially when buying second-hand handpieces. The bag is red and, like the shoes, is of high quality. Protruding threads and poor quality and workmanship of the dust bag also indicate a fake. Be careful with alleged authenticity cards, because these do not exist with original Louboutin products. Whoever presents you with such a fake certificate of authenticity is most likely not dealing with originals, but with plagiarism, so keep your hands off it. Always ask for the original shoebox and compare the model and shoe size on the box with the model you bought or want to buy.
